PRODUCT INFORMATION

Kiln Dried Hardwood produces more heat and burns longer.

Seasoned Hardwood burns well but will not produce as much heat as Kiln Dried.

Softwood burns well and produces intense heat quickly. Softwood firewood is ideal for your stove.

We use only Native Irish Hardwoods, such as Ash, Oak, Beech, Sycamore and Birch.

The softwood we use is all Homegrown Conifer, mainly Sitka Spruce. This timber is felled at least a year in advance, then cut, split and put into well ventilated storage for a further six months. At such time the moisture content will be below 25% and ready to burn.

The moisture content of firewood should not be more tha 25% and must be less than 20% for gasifier stoves to function efficiently. The energy content of firewood is directly related to its moisture content. When you buy dry firewood you get more heat for your money.
